Privacy Policy

👋 Welcome to Heloq

Heloq is a calorie tracking and nutrition app that uses artificial intelligence to help you log meals, estimate nutrition, track progress, and manage your health goals. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, who can access it, and how you can control or delete it. We believe in radical transparency — if we collect it, it's listed here.

When you create an account or set up your profile, we collect:

• Name — to personalize your experience
• Email address — for account authentication via Firebase Authentication
• Age, gender, height, current weight, target weight — to calculate your calorie goals, BMI, and personalized nutrition recommendations
• Diet preference — vegetarian, eggetarian, or non-vegetarian — to ensure food suggestions match your dietary restrictions
• Fitness goal — lose weight, gain weight, or maintain — to tailor calorie and macro targets
• Activity level — to calculate your daily calorie budget

As you use the App, we collect and store:

• Meal logs — food names, portion sizes, calorie and macro estimates (protein, carbs, fat, fibre), timestamps, and meal type
• Weight logs — historical weight entries with dates for progress tracking
• Water intake — daily glass count
• Activity/exercise logs — activity type, duration, and estimated calories burned
• Steps and active energy — read from Apple HealthKit with your explicit permission
• Fasting schedule — your intermittent fasting type, eating window times, and daily completion status
• Craving history — what you craved, when, and whether you resisted, swapped, or ordered an alternative

• Food photos — images you capture to log meals. These are sent to our AI provider for analysis and are not permanently stored on our servers after processing.
• Progress photos — body transformation photos you voluntarily take. These are stored on Cloudinary and linked to your account.
• Profile photo — your optional profile picture, stored on Cloudinary.
• Menu photos — restaurant menu images you scan for nutrition analysis. These are not permanently stored after processing.

Heloq displays ads through Google AdMob. In connection with advertising, the following data may be collected:

• Device identifiers — such as the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS, only if you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt
• Ad interaction data — whether you viewed, tapped, or dismissed an ad
• General device information — device model, OS version, and language
• IP address — used by AdMob for approximate geographic targeting and fraud prevention

If you subscribe to Heloq Pro, the following applies:

• Payment information — We do NOT collect, store, or have access to your credit card, bank, or payment details. All transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store.
• Subscription status — We store whether your account has an active Pro subscription, the plan type (monthly or yearly), and the expiration date, to unlock premium features within the App.
• Purchase receipts — Apple purchase receipts are verified to validate your subscription. These receipts do not contain your payment details.
• Trial status — If you use a free trial, we record the trial start and end dates to manage your access.

🛡️ Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we never touch:

We use your data for these purposes:

• Calorie and nutrition tracking — the core function of the App
• Personalized AI recommendations — meal suggestions, craving alternatives, and daily insights
• Progress visualization — weight trends, streaks, and historical data
• Fasting tracking — monitoring your eating windows and fasting progress
• Advertising — displaying ads via Google AdMob to support the free version

We use the following third-party services. Each receives only the minimum data necessary:

• Your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore with encryption in transit and at rest
• Your photos are stored on Cloudinary using HTTPS for all transfers
• Your account is protected by Firebase Authentication
• Firestore security rules ensure each user can only access their own data
• We do NOT store your password — Firebase handles this securely
• Photo URLs include randomized identifiers to prevent guessing

Your data is kept as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Delete Account).

This permanently deletes your Firebase Authentication account, all Firestore data, and your profile information. Photo files on Cloudinary may take up to 30 days to be fully purged from CDN caches.

Heloq is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

In compliance with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines (Section 5.1.3):

• We do NOT use HealthKit data for advertising or data mining
• We do NOT disclose HealthKit data to third parties
• We do NOT sell HealthKit data
• We only read step count and active energy burned
• HealthKit access is entirely optional
• HealthKit data is never shared with ad networks including Google AdMob

On iOS, Heloq requests your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before allowing Google AdMob to access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA).

Heloq uses artificial intelligence to estimate calorie counts, macro nutrients, and provide nutrition suggestions. These are estimates only and may not be 100% accurate. The App is not a medical device and should not be used as a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice.

• Access — all your data is visible within the App at all times
• Correct — edit your profile, meals, and weight entries anytime
• Delete — delete individual items or your entire account
• Withdraw consent — revoke HealthKit access via iOS Settings
• Export — contact us to request a data export

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through an in-app notice. The "Last Updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
